All in all today was a good day. Ryan has not had any apnea episodes and seems to be eating better (thank you God and Dr. Brown's bottle). Before Ryan can come home he must have five days without any apnea episodes. We're extremely grateful for the expertise of the NICU nurses and doctors, but ultimately we trust in the Great Physician. He has given us these children and He can heal and sustain them. We cling to that hope.
Regarding Lauren, she has lost 10% of her body weight (it is expected for all newborns to lose between 7-10% of their body weight), so we are trying to get her to eat as much as possible. She is such a trooper and her Daddy is so patient when he feeds her (which is the majority of the time). We pray she continues to eat more each day.
Here's how you can pray:
1. Ryan's continued healing and development of his little body (specifically that he would have no more apnea episodes and continue to hold down his food).
2. Lauren's weight gain and increased food intake.
